Season 1A is the first segment of Season 1 in Animated Inanimate Battle. It has so far, been the only segment completed with 5 episodes, "An Ice Beginning", "Smarter & Boulder", "Get A Grip", "Fartists", and "Sun Blocked", with The Pilot being considered a "Season 0".[1]
In the season, 4 contestants were eliminated, Raisin, Glowstick, Pear, and Whoopee Cushion, who are members of Team 6, Team 1, Team 5, and Team 4 respectively.
Some new characters were introduced, besides the original 60 contestants and Oodle introduced in Season 0. In An Ice Beginning, Tumbleweed was introduced as a minor character who makes brief appearances, usually to just say "pardon". There was also Tivo who helps Oodle in hosting as a television, little is known about him though.
Secondly, Red Eyes (Note: this is a nickname used to refer to them, they have no official name as of now), who was a mysterious entity introduced in Smarter & Boulder in the end scene and was found to have been able to possess Bone.
There was then Cinnamon Bun who came in Get A Grip as a prize for Team 3, Mitten took the prize after everyone else in the team didn’t want it. After the end of the challenge, it is revealed that Cinnamon Bun is actually alive which shocks the team. Mitten becomes very attached to Cinnamon Bun in the next episodes, and it causes some conflict in the team, especially between Mitten and Recycling Bin who believes she is just an inconvenience.
Another introduced character was the Paint Monster who came from a paint can that Oodle opened in episode 4 that attacked him and made him change the challenge since they didn’t have art supplies anymore. This became important to conflict in Team 4 as Alef noticed an inverted red triangle on the paint can which lead him to accusing Nabla of creating the monster, with his allies supporting the accusation, while Nabla and her friends believe the accusation is untrue.
There was then Shade, introduced in Sun Blocked who came after Album was talking about her appearance, Shade decided to give Album some (later found to be combustible) anti-scratch cream. Shade then said that they have a good thing going, and to expect to see him again.
Also introduced in "Sun Blocked" was Spore, a tall orange mushroom that lives in a cave. Team 5 met her but there was a negative interaction. She asked what are they all doing in her cave, and thought they were trying to steal her crystal collection. Spore then says that they would never get what she thought was a crystal but instead was a sun piece needed for the challenge. She then sprays some sleeping gas after they try to get the sun piece, but Apricot throws her a crystal with Fireball’s pickaxe, when Spore grabs it though, she freezes because of what the crystal does, and then the team leaves with the sun piece.
