This will be a page on Alef and Nabla’s relationship. It is an extremely negative relationship between them, with very little positive interaction between them. It has caused a split in Team 4 between contestants who side with Nabla (Glue and Leek), contestants who side with Alef (Frisbee and Ketchup), and contestants who are neutral on the conflict (Envelope, Lyre, Toothpick, and Whoopee Cushion).
Positive interactions[]
In Fartists, Nabla and Glue think they should apologize to Alef for the retaliation mentioned below, but don’t as they think it wouldn’t be accepted.
In Sun Blocked, Nabla and Glue congratulate (albeit reluctantly) Alef’s winning of the prize and end up apologizing to Alef over the retaliation in the previous episode.
Negative interactions[]
In "An Ice Beginning", Alef reveals Nabla to be his cousin, annoying Nabla. Alef says to Nabla to do nothing to embarrass him, only for him to step on Whoopee Cushion. Later in the contest, Nabla tells everyone to focus on her plan, but Alef pushes her chalkboard off, crushing Glue, and annoying Nabla. Alef says that Nabla's plan is stupid and hard to follow, and says that a bunch of science won't help them out if they've already lost two team members. Nabla, annoyed, responds sarcastically asking what will actually help. When Frisbee knocks Nacho, Teabag, Chalk, and Flaggy off their team's ice block, Nabla is surprised that that was effective. Alef agrees, and tells Nabla to keep her geekiness to herself, annoying Nabla once again. Suddenly, Bouncy Ball comes and knocks Alef off his team's ice block. Nabla then thanks Sock for knocking him off.
In "Smarter & Boulder", Nabla was presenting her plan based on weight distribution with the stronger members pushing the center and the weaker ones pushing the edges of the boulder to achieve “maximum force”. Alef then interjects saying the plan was boring, and saying, “You know it’s bad enough you’re a nerd but now you’ve downgraded!”, with the “downgraded” part referring to Nabla losing her chalkboard (due to Alef pushing it off the ice block in the previous episode), and being forced to use her smaller chalkboard. Alef instead suggests to make Frisbee push the boulder all by himself, since he can “probably push this thing one-handed.” Alef’s plan is used for most of the challenge, but near the end, Nabla’s plan is seen being used.
In "Get A Grip", Nabla regains her chalkboard when she found it in the ocean in the previous episode with Glue helping her, and a significant friendship between Nabla and Glue starts. She uses the chalkboard again, and makes a plan for the challenge. Whoopee Cushion, due to being the operator and the only one out of the claw machine is able to and does erase all of Nabla’s plan and replaces it with just a drawing of Nabla saying she is a jerk. Alef has a laugh at it, before Whoopee Cushion then draws him saying he is a “big fat meanie”, with Nabla then laughing at him, with a negative response from Alef.
In "Fartists", Nabla begins her retaliation against Alef, with Nabla at the start of the challenge, referring to him with his real name that he actively hates, “Aleph”. Then, she excludes him from the challenge as a response to her being able to do very little in the past, and her and Glue take control of the challenge.
While Alef is watching the challenge, he, Frisbee (who was also excluded due to Glue saying he isn’t “delicate and detail-oriented” enough), and Ketchup form the Broliance to counter Nabla and Glue. Shortly after it’s formed, Alef goes back to the rest of the team, and demands he “gets his place on this team back.” Nabla and Glue respond saying they have everything under control, and that he doesn’t get to help.
When the team is done with the painting, shortly after Cinnamon Bun gets stuck in the painting, Alef then comes to get Cinnamon Bun out, but Cinnamon Bun gets out by herself. Nabla and Glue proceed to sarcastically say he “saved the day”. Alef then slips on the painting and gets stuck in it herself. Frisbee attempts to help by giving him a javelin to grab onto, but while Frisbee attempts to pull him out, he makes the painting and by extension, Alef propel into the sky, and then fall into the ground, with Nabla, Glue, and Whoopee Cushion then laughing at Alef. Nabla then says to Alef when he gets out to “consider this revenge” for what Alef did to her, and asks how it feels. He proceeds to walk angrily and then run away crying, saying “I hope you got what you wanted.”
Nabla and Glue think they should apologize to Alef, but don’t as they think it wouldn’t be accepted. Leek comes in and says that Alef would probably be eliminated by the viewers anyways. The Broliance then say that the viewers shouldn’t decide who should be eliminated since they aren’t the ones competing. Oodle then switches the system to contestant voting, with the viewers only being able to decide a prize.
In the end scene of the episode, Alef kicks the paint bucket that had the Paint Monster, and sees an inverted red triangle. In shock, he thinks of it as meaning Nabla created the Paint Monster.
In Sun Blocked, this becomes important as the team goes up for elimination. Alef brings up the paint can, and accuses Nabla of making the monster from it. Glue responds saying that the claim is ridiculous. Ketchup and Frisbee respond saying that it isn’t that unlikely due to her predicting the claw machine challenge. Leek then comes to defend her saying that it was in her sleep, and that sabotaging is a conscious choice, and believing Nabla wouldn’t do such a thing.
Oodle while the arguing is happening pulls the paint can out after seeing it and being nervous. He then throws it in the interdimensional memento collection. Oodle says that he doesn’t want to derail the elimination and just wants to focus on the actual voting.
Nabla, Glue, and Leek all vote for Alef, with Nabla and Glue voting for him due to thinking Alef was framing Nabla, while Leek voted because they “had the challenge under control” and he should’ve just backed off for once. Meanwhile, the Broliance (Alef, Frisbee, and Ketchup) vote for Nabla due to believing she made the Paint Monster. Although neither Alef nor Nabla actually get eliminated, with Whoopee Cushion leaving instead with 4 votes (including himself as a joke).
Later in the episode, Alef finds the sun piece, before being interrupted by Glue, with Nabla then asking how to get to it. Envelope then says “BUST IT OPEN, WE’LL CHANGE OUR NAMES, THEY’LL NEVER CATCH US.”, with Ketchup interjecting saying that the Broliance should handle this, saying that the others would do sabotage. There is then an argument over whether Nabla actually sabotaged the challenge which quickly changes from just shouting at each other to an actual physical fight. In the middle of all this chaos, Toothpick tries to get the sun piece and succeeds, and delivers it to Oodle, winning for the team.
